LUBRICORP is proud to support the March of Dimes as one of our major community endeavors - we know the difficulties that parents face raising children with special needs and we have committed our hearts to helping through the March of Dimes. MARCH OF DIMES MISSION: Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.
The Helen Ross McNabb center is a local organization that is another LUBRICORP community partner. In fact, Herman Gettlefinger, our founding father, has been supporting the center for 19 years through the Herman Gettlefinger Fishing Tournament, and has raised over $3 million dollars for the Helen Ross Mcnabb Foundation. The Helen Ross McNabb Center employs 334 full and part time staff, and is a provider of mental health, substance abuse treatment and social services in Knox and 16 other East Tennessee counties. More than 7, 500 children, adults, and families are expected to receive services through Center programs this year. Helen Ross McNabb's dream lives on in the concern, caring, and empathy demonstrated daily by a dedicated staff.
